Black China Music Company is a HipHop crew made up of artists across China. It was founded in 2016 by Skinny OG, and started with just 2 artists: Skinny OG himself, and his flagship artist and partner-in-rhyme, Queen Diamond.
BCMC today is a fully fledged independent music label offering DJs, artist management, rappers, dancers, singers, engineers, studio producers, beatmakers, beatboxers, graphic designers, models, actors, live musicians, writers, performers, and artists of all types and genres.
Since 2016, BCMC has become a mainstay of HipHop shows in China, spreading the positive cultural values of authentic HipHop, such as combating racial intolerance, promoting artistic expression, speaking truth to power, championing social justice, and uplifting communities.
Skinny OG is the founder of Black China Music Company (BCMC).
Known by the Chinese name “上海黑龙”, which translates to “Shanghai Black Dragon”, Skinny OG was born in Cameroon, before his family moved to New York City when he was just 1 year old.
Growing up in the Mecca of HipHop culture, Skinny has been a serious HipHop artist since the age of 7, when he started out as a competitive break-dancer.
After stints living in Cameroon and France, and in many cities across America like Atlanta and Washington DC, Skinny OG had already earned a reputation as a fierce freestyle phenom and fiery lyricist, in HipHop circles,
Arriving in Shanghai in 2015, the OG was on a mission to bring his messages to new audiences, and he has now performed hundreds of shows, across Asia.
Skinny OG is also one of the few HipHop artists to ever appear on Chinese TV, freestyling on the China Global Television Network (CGTN) show “The Chat Room”.
His astoundingly energetic live show performances, and catchy crowd-thrilling choruses, have truly made him an underground legend in the highly discerning Chinese HipHop community.
